With the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays in full swing, Shijingshan Amusement Park is hosting the Beijing debut of the Pingcheng Paper Dragon Dance, a 1,000-year-old intangible cultural heritage. Visitors can also enjoy free longevity noodles for 10,000 people and explore seven themed lantern zones, plenty of fun to keep you coming back for more.
The paper dragons used were handcrafted by the inheritor of this intangible cultural heritage item through over 30 meticulous steps. To the beat of live drummers, the 22-meter-long male and female paper dragons "come to life" in dazzling performances. Visitors can also participate in the "Dotting the Dragon's Eyes" ceremony, immersing themselves in the charm of this intangible cultural heritage item.
Visitors can also enjoy free longevity noodles, a treat that warms both heart and stomach. They will be served daily from October 1 to 8, between 10:30 and 21:30, at the Princess Garden and the Boeing Square.
The Jingcai Lantern Show has also been fully upgraded, with sub-events such as the Hand-in-Hand EDM Festival (手拉手电音节), traditional Chinese costume parades, thrilling acrobatic shows, the molten-iron fireworks (also an intangible cultural heritage item), and a culinary and shopping carnival featuring specialty snacks and trendy, creative products. The seven themed lantern zones are a highlight not to be missed, blending steampunk, trendy Chinese elements, and playful designs with traditional lanterns to create must-see photo spots for visitors of all ages.
