The "Two Parks, One River" (Shougang Park, Beijing Garden Expo Park, and the Yongding River) is a new development "pole" in the western part of Beijing. On September 10, the "Two Parks, One River" exhibition area officially opened at the 2025 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), with six projects along the core waterfront belt also presented to the public.
The collaboration between the three components has not only facilitated east-west integration and north-south connectivity across the Yongding River region but also created a resource aggregation effect, enabling clustered and coordinated development. Moreover, they are promoting the integrated management of ecological, cultural, and industrial resources. In the future, the "Two Parks, One River" region will evolve into a waterfront space in urban Beijing.
On September 8, the Riverside Leisure Hub (Yongding River Market), one of the core waterfront projects, opened to the public. This project is a new landmark highlighted by waterfront lifestyles, blending natural wilderness, artistic creativity, and community vitality. It features coffee shops, handmade craft stores, camping facilities, and other outlets of unique, trendy brands, creating a relaxing and leisurely atmosphere.
The projects of the core waterfront belt are mostly located between the New Shougang Bridge and Line S1 of Beijing Subway. Highlights besides the Yongding River Market include the Yongding River's "Five Lakes, One Line" restoration project marked by a wide, clear water surface, the greenway connecting Shijingshan Mountain to the riverbank, and the train dining car. The relevant areas and facilities, now fully open, offer opportunities to tour the Western Hills and a wetland, watch sunsets, and savor gourmet food, making the region a significant leisure space for locals and a must-visit destination for tourists exploring the landscapes of western Beijing.
