The Shijingshan section of Xishan Greenway stretches 40.2 kilometers. Built along the mountain contours, it features a main loop and a dedicated hiking trail, connecting several key scenic attractions, including Tiantai Lake (Nanmachang Reservoir), Xishan National Forest Park, and Badachu Park, and extends northward to Xiangshan (Fragrant Hills) in Haidian District. The route largely aligns with "Xiang-Ba-La" (Xiangshan to Badachu Park), a well-known trekking itinerary among hiking enthusiasts. Integrating the elegance of ancient pilgrimage paths, the scenic charm of historic riverways and the cultural heritage of traditional trading routes, the greenway seamlessly blends natural, cultural and urban vistas.

The Ravine Line and the Ridge Line stand as the two signature scenic routes of the Xishan Greenway.

Designed exclusively for pedestrians, the Ravine Line winds upstream along Heishitou Ravine, tracing the stream toward its source. Hikers are accompanied by the soothing sounds of babbling brooks and the rustic charm of the wilderness. The line passes through multiple landmarks involving the Lalahu Reservoir, Wanshan Bridge and Tiantai Lake (Nanmachang Reservoir), before extending to the trail in Haidian District to the northeast.

The Ridge Line, as the most extensive route within the Shijingshan section of the greenway, is a dedicated pedestrian walkway as well. It offers hikers unparalleled landscapes covering all the major landmarks including Cuiwei Peak and Hutou Mountain.

Travel Tips:

1. Location and Transportation: The starting point of the greenway is on Heichen Road in Shijingshan. Drivers can navigate to the destination by searching for "Xishan Greenway (Shijingshan Section)" (西山绿道(石景山段)) on Baidu Maps or Amap. For those choosing public transportation, please take Bus No. 597 to Heishitoucun Stop (黑石头村), and proceed on foot along Heichen Road.

2. Additional Reminder: Visitors are advised to warm up properly before starting the hike and to bring an ample supply of drinking water. Please refrain from damaging the vegetation or picking flowers. When walking near waterfront areas, please kindly maintain a safe distance from the water's edge.
