Beijing recently announced 30 newly-selected Internet-famous spots, with Yongding River Market and Shijingshan Academy in Shijingshan District included on the list. Meanwhile, Beijing also released the third batch of eight Beijing micro-vacation destination brands, which include Moshikou Historical and Cultural Block.

Yongding River Market

Nestled at the foot of Shijing Mountain and along the banks of the Yongding River, this market allows everyone to savor gourmet food while "marveling at the Western Hills, wetlands and sunsets", and is known as a model of urban renewal. It features a number of Beijing's first stores, organizing life festivals, brand collaboration events and thematic parties. Visitors here can also enjoy interactive games, cycling and handcraft making. A dozen of pop-up spots are available in the riverbank area, including pop-up stores with amazing goods as well as music tents, creating an immersive new waterside consumption lifestyle for locals and tourists alike.

Shijingshan Academy

Transformed and upgraded, this cultural complex on Shijingshan Mountain consists of Nanshan Courtyard, Shijingshan Ancient Architecture Complex, and Gongbei Pavilion, forming a multifunctional space that integrates cultural experiences, study tours and artistic gatherings.

Standing at Gongbei Pavilion and looking afar, one can have a panoramic view of the industrial-style silhouette formed by the cooling towers and the big air venue of the Winter Olympics at Shougang Park. The ancient architecture complex often hosts cultural gatherings and performances such as those of tea ceremony, floral art, Peking Opera and ancient Chinese zither, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of western Beijing. Nanshan Courtyard preserves the tales of "the top fairy mountain of Beijing", and displays over 100 kinds of "Shijingshan gifts".

Moshikou Historical and Cultural Block

This "millennia-old path and century-old street", which originated in the Western Zhou Dynasty and became well-known during the Ming and Qing dynasties, was previously a vital camel caravan route connecting the ancient capital and the northern frontier areas. Now, it is regaining its prosperity with a brand-new look. The block not only offers cultural study tours and premium tour routes, but also hosts a series of themed activities. It has now turned out to be a livable, sightworthy and business-friendly block integrating cultural experience, tourism and leisure.
