Shijingshan District is home to countless ideal spots for viewing sunset glow. This time, we are going to introduce to you this photogenic trail. It takes just 15 minutes to reach the top of a mountain, where you can enjoy panoramic views, reflections from a mirror-like lake, and striking architectural silhouettes!
Shijingshan Academy
Nestled on Shijing Mountain, the academy consists of three sections: Nanshan Courtyard, the Ancient Architecture Complex and Gongbei Pavilion. Surrounded by verdant trees, the courtyard is bathed in slanting sunset glow from the west, with tall trees and the sky forming a beautiful spectacle.
Gongbei Pavilion is the top spot for photos. You can capture distinctive sunset shots featuring the pavilion, with the New Shougang Bridge, the High Line Park and Yong Ding He Ji serving as brilliant backdrops, each delivering a unique visual effect. There is a boutique inside the academy, where souvenirs from the "Shijingshan Gifts" collection are available, with tea and light snacks served during holidays.
Qunming Lake
Qunming Lake is the largest water body within Shougang Park. At dusk, golden evening light spills from the west, casting silhouettes of Gongbei Pavilion, the No.3 Blast Furnace and the Big Air Shougang famous for its curves, all mirrored perfectly on the calm water surface.
The west lakeshore is the best location for photo-taking. Observation decks and waterside platforms line the bank. A full lakeside stroll takes roughly 30 minutes. Try taking photos from different angles, and you will hardly be disappointed.
Shougang International Convention and Exhibition Center
Renovated from the No.4 Blast Furnace completed in 1969, the entire building is bathed in a warm golden glow at dusk. Its glass curtain wall mirrors the sky and adjacent industrial structures. Reflected shades transform from warm gold to soft pink, and then to pale grayish blue, presenting a stunning array of colors.
