The cableway and alpine skidway at Badachu Park have reopened after a two-year suspension for upgrades, offering visitors an authentic mountain adventure near Beijing's West 5th Ring Road. Visitors can take in sweeping views 1,050 meters above the ground and enjoy an exhilarating 1,700-meter descent through the forest.

Opened in the Western Hills in 1994, the alpine skidway at Badachu Park was the first of its kind in China. Following the latest upgrades, it now offers a new outdoor leisure experience combining natural scenery, cultural heritage and recreational thrills.

It takes less than 5 minutes to reach the top by the upgraded cableway. Its cabins enter the station slowly and smoothly, making boarding particularly convenient for seniors, visitors with limited mobility and families with young children. The new cableway supports are approximately 10 meters taller on average, offering views of urban landmarks such as CCTV Tower to the east, and the ancient temples and verdant hills of Badachu to the west.

The upgraded skidway features a 1,700-meter course through the forest, with a vertical drop of 240 meters and more than 50 turns. Visitors can control their speed throughout the journey, switching between leisurely sightseeing and a thrilling high-speed descent.

The new coaster automatically steers around bends and applies the brakes when it gets too close to the vehicle ahead, providing a high level of safety. It can also operate in rainy and snowy conditions, allowing for year-round service. For the operating hours during extreme weather conditions, please check the park's on-site notices.
