To facilitate the construction of Line 1's branch line and achieve its connection with Line 1, Gucheng and Babaoshan stations on Line 1 will temporarily suspend service starting February 15, 2026. Trains on Line 1 will turn back at Yuquan Lu Station during this period. The two stations are expected to resume operation by late May 2026, upon completion of the reconstruction works. Pingguoyuan Station on Line 1 will open for service at the same time, enabling interchange among Line 1, Line 6 and S1 Line.

As an important rail transit line serving areas including Shijingshan and Fengtai districts, Line 1's branch line has now entered the full-scale construction phase and is expected to be operational by June 2027. The junction between the branch line and Line 1 is located east of Bajiao Amusement Park Station. Through construction and modification of the junction, the branch line will be connected to Line 1 at Bajiao Amusement Park Station upon completion. As Babaoshan Station does not have capacity for turnback, Line 1 trains will terminate at Yuquan Lu Station for turnback during the construction phase. Gucheng and Babaoshan Stations will be temporarily closed throughout the same period, and passengers are advised to plan their journeys in advance.

To minimize the impact of the service suspension on passengers, Beijing's municipal and district transportation authorities will take a range of measures, such as optimizing the operation of the rest of Line 1, increasing the transportation capacities of ground buses, deploying more shared bicycles, adding non-motor vehicle parking areas, and ensuring travel convenience for residents living nearby. Specifically, on-site passenger flow management will be strengthened at Yuquan Lu Station on Line 1 and Yangzhuang Station on Line 6, and temporary shuttle bus services will be launched to pick up passengers at Yuquan Lu Station and stop by Babaoshan and Gucheng stations to facilitate transfers. The transportation capacities of the connecting bus routes (No. 76, 337, and 373) serving Yuquan Lu Station will also be increased.
