As the 16th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) draws near, Shijingshan District, a key partner location, has designed a rich lineup of events to deliver a district-wide cinematic gala integrating culture, commerce, tourism and sports for film fans.

The "Run for Fun" (影人欢乐跑) relay race will kick off at Shougang Park on April 19. Set against the Big Air Shougang, a world-class sports landmark, the event seamlessly blends film culture, sporting spirit and the district's cultural tourism elements. Runners from the film and television industry will gather here to traverse this dynamic part of Beijing where industrial relics meet contemporary fashion.

On the same day, a themed flash mob will take place at Moshikou Historical and Cultural Block, the iconic filming location of "Camel Xiangzi" (a film based on a novel of the same name by Lao She, a renowned novelist). Through the interplay of literature, cinema and heritage architecture, this will breathe new life into a timeless literary masterpiece.

On April 25, the "Sounds of China: Melodies Meets Movies" (《听见国潮》之“乐影相融”), a film concert, will be staged along the Yongding River in Shougang Park. It will feature new interpretations of classic Chinese and international film soundtracks by a Chinese ethnic orchestra, offering a stunning audiovisual experience rooted in the aesthetics of China and the rest of the globe.

From April 18 to May 5, the "Old Books, New Knowledge" Caravan Film-themed Market & Beijing Film and Life Festival (“旧书新知”大篷车电影主题市集暨北京电影生活节) will run concurrently at Chang'an Mills and Rong Square in Shougang Park. The market features three sectors: "Film + Cultural Reading", "Film + Public Welfare Rural Support", and "Film + Healthy Living", delivering a one-of-a-kind film-inspired lifestyle experience.

On April 17, the "Films & Intangible Cultural Heritage" (跟着电影赏非遗) event at the Beijing Eight Imperial Handicrafts Museum will invite master artisans to guide visitors in exploring elements of the intangible cultural heritage in films, showcasing the allure of craftsmanship.

Moreover, Langyuan Park will host an ultra-high-definition immersive "second live venue", broadcasting the BJIFF opening and closing ceremonies, red-carpet ceremonies and celebrity interactions. Additional activities include festival-themed photo spots, a hand-painted film poster workshop and a pet carnival, creating a delightful "Film + Pet Fun" experience.

Free public film screenings will be available at multiple commercial zones and cultural creativity spaces throughout the event period.

Shijingshan District will also launch an innovative consumer-benefit system centered on exclusive BJIFF PASS cards. Through the "Tap Surprise" (碰见惊喜) PASS card, customized consumption maps and dedicated online channels, the system covers shopping malls, scenic attractions, and catering and other businesses, offering movie-goers more benefits in terms of shopping and touring. Visitors can enjoy district-wide discounts simply by presenting their movie ticket stubs.
