From October 20 to 22, the 2026 China International Friendship Cities Conference was held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. At the conference, Beijing's Shijingshan District and Olmazor District of Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, officially signed an agreement to establish sister-city relations.

Since establishing ties in 2023, Shijingshan and Olmazor have been strengthening cooperation across a range of fields. The signing of the agreement marks the formal establishment of sister-city relations between the two districts and opens a new chapter in their partnership.
