Starting this year, Shijingshan District will establish an annual special sci-tech fund worth CNY 1 billion to support key industries such as industrial Internet, humanoid robot, and virtual reality through subsidies and operational funding.
For the humanoid robot industry, the district has outlined specific support measures:
Support for the R&D of cutting-edge technologies: Focus will be given to advancing key technologies and core components of humanoid robots, including "brains, cerebellums, limbs, and bodies", with enhanced R&D efforts in cutting-edge technologies. After evaluation, a project will receive funding subsidies of up to 30 percent of the total R&D investment, with a maximum subsidy of CNY 5 million per project. For any project receiving support from the municipal-level and/or higher, an additional subsidy of 30 percent of the awarded funds will be granted, up to a maximum of CNY 9 million.
Greater efforts for breakthroughs of key technologies: Support will be given to the R&D of technologies including force sensors and tactile sensors. Enterprises that complete national or provincial-level challenge-based R&D tasks will each receive a reward of up to CNY 500,000 per project, with a maximum of CNY 1 million per enterprise. Enterprises that complete district-level challenge-based R&D tasks will each receive a reward of up to CNY 200,000 per project, with a maximum of CNY 400,000 per enterprise.
Support for building innovation platforms: For newly established or newly recognized national- or municipal-level key laboratories related to humanoid robots, subsidies will be provided based on actual R&D expenditures and office space usage. After evaluation, up to 100 percent of rental costs will be covered, with a maximum subsidized area of 4,000 square meters. And operational funding of up to CNY 5 million per year will be provided for up to three consecutive years.
Support for the commercialization of innovation achievements: Any enterprise receiving municipal-level support for the innovative products put into use on a trial basis for the first time or first-of-its-kind (first piece/set) facility will be awarded 50 percent of the municipal-level funding amount, with a maximum reward of CNY 1 million. To support the commercialization of humanoid robot-related technological achievements from universities and research institutions, a subsidy of five percent of the actual transaction value will be granted to every qualified technology provider, with a maximum subsidy of CNY 1 million.
Support for talent attraction and development: Efforts will be made to enhance talent recruitment for the humanoid robot industry, and prioritize high-level and urgently needed professionals by expediting the processes of talent introduction and issuance of work permits and residence permits. Eligible candidates will be recommended for the "Jingxian Talent" project, with essential support to be provided in terms of children's education, healthcare, and housing assistance.
