On February 2, the 2026 Shijingshan District Industrial Development Promotion Conference was held. During the conference, Shijingshan District unveiled the "Opportunities in Western Beijing" list of collaborative projects and officially launched its "City Partners" recruitment initiative to the world.
The list integrates application scenarios, industrial spaces, and financial support.
In terms of application scenarios, in 2026, the district will systematically develop 10 benchmark projects under the "Opportunities in Western Beijing" initiative.
In the field of digital economy, the district will create a "Future Digital Block", providing a channel for full-cycle acceleration (from validation to commercial application) for frontier technologies such as digital technologies and those of artificial intelligence (AI).
The district will also establish a "Cultural Tech Nexus", which will serve as a multipurpose center for the exhibitions, experiences, and transactions of new technologies and products in the domains of AI including embodied AI, developing a distinctive "AI + Culture" innovation cluster.
In the cultural, commercial, tourism, and sports sectors, an innovative mode for the deep integration of exhibitions and commerce will be introduced. Specific moves include developing Chang'an Mills Pedestrian Commercial Block, which is expected to fully unleash the local commercial vitality and consumption potential.
Additionally, efforts will be made to create China's first urban sports landmark themed around table tennis to foster integrated development across culture, commerce, tourism, and sports.
In terms of physical platforms, comprehensive efforts will be made to expand the area of Zhongguancun Shijingshan Science Park to 14.4 square kilometers, accelerate the growth of the Beijing Shijingshan High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, and establish a development framework characterized by "one core, three corridors, and six distinctive industrial parks". To date, 407 individual commercial buildings have been completed within the district, with a combined above-ground floor area of 6.373 million square meters. Specifically, 204 buildings have an area exceeding 10,000 square meters each, and 76 are classified as Grade-A office buildings. These provide enterprises with industrial space support tailored to various stages of their development.
In terms of financial support, Shijingshan has established a "1+X" industrial fund matrix. Under this framework, a government-guided investment fund provides coordinated leadership, working in synergy with nine sub-funds. With a total scale of 5.59 billion yuan, the matrix covers key sectors such as next-generation information technologies, AI, the digital economy, the sci-fi industry, industrial Internet, the humanoid robotics industry, and the integration of culture and technologies. Designed to offer full life-cycle funding support for enterprises at all growth stages, the matrix serves as a "long-term investor" for businesses.
During the conference, Shijingshan also launched its "City Partners" recruitment initiative to the world. It invited 11 domestic and international entities—including research institutions, leading enterprises, universities, and industry associations, such as the Harbin Institute of Technology and Deep Space Exploration Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., to become Shijingshan's "City Partners". Together, they will form a community of shared future committed to "jointly discussing development strategies, co-building the city's future, co-governing the innovation ecosystem, and sharing in the fruits of development".
