Recently, the award ceremony of the 2026 "Star Map of Fingertips" Game Innovation Competition was held in Beijing, where 27 high-quality original game titles claimed various awards. Rooted in Shijingshan District's digital economic development layout, the competition links universities, leading gaming enterprises and industrial associations to form a full incubation and cultivation chain, creating a whole-process pathway for homemade indie games to evolve from conceptual prototypes to commercially viable products.
This year's award-winning titles boast bold creative concepts, profound oriental cultural connotations, and new practices associated with cutting-edge technologies.
Among the top-tier Grand Star Map Awards winners, the whimsical rhythm game "Rhythm Hotel" took the first prize. Moving beyond the heavy visual dependency of conventional rhythm games, it intricately weaves historical figures, absurd storylines and beat-based operations into one cohesive gameplay experience.
The physical cultural card game "Momento" claimed the second place, followed by the stress-relief comedy sandbox "Gulltastrophe".
The category-specific awards honored titles with distinctive creative strengths: the puzzle game "Don't Break the Key" (不要弄坏钥匙) claimed the Best Gameplay and Mechanism Innovation Award. Two titles developed by university students—the gravity-reversal puzzle "Mobius" and sci-fi rhythm shooter "White Noise" (白噪)—were named Best University Student Works. The board game "Splendid Weaving Age" (锦绣华章), themed around the Song Dynasty's textiles, delves into intangible cultural heritage and was recognized as the Best Social and Cultural Value Work.
Chinese-style original works stood out remarkably. The action game "Nuoshen" (傩神) integrates iconic Oriental cultural motifs such as records from Shan Hai Jing (Classic of Mountains and Seas), Sanxingdui relics and Nuo opera masks, crafting a souls-like combat experience rooted in traditional Chinese art styles. The board game "Wooden Ox and Flowing Horse" (木牛流马) centers on mechanical beasts of the Three Kingdoms era and restores tactical confrontations along ancient trade routes. The narrative, strategy and casual tracks also brought forth a wealth of original works covering realistic, sci-fi and heartwarming themes. The AI simulation management game "Meowu Island" (喵呜岛), which features self-aware cat NPCs capable of independent thinking and retaining emotional memories, was named a Popular Star Map Work, demonstrating innovative new potentials for integrating digital technology with immersive gameplay.
Shijingshan District has been boosting the development of its gaming and esports sector. It has rolled out targeted support policies and built a full-spectrum industrial service system integrating competitions, incubation, project implementation, and talent recruitment and cultivation, aiming to forge a leading gaming industry cluster in western Beijing. The representatives of the hosting parties noted that all winning projects will be incorporated into Shijingshan's game incubation support framework. Fueled by exclusive local policies and leading industrial resources, young creators will enjoy long-term professional support to unleash their full creative vitality.
