On November 22, 2018, Wang Bingyu announced her retirement and left the curling rink where she had competed for 18 years. However, curling is still an important part of her life even she had retired. Her 18-year curling career has closely connected her with curling. As the director of the Curling Competition Division of the Sports Department of Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Wang Bingyu started her next slide of life in another new arena.

As the director of the Curling Competition Division of the Sports Department of Beijing Organizing Committee for Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, Wang Bingyu continues to pursue her curling dream in this new position. Wang Bingyu said she needs to understand the curling sport from a macro perspective in order to transform from an athlete to an event organizer. "When I was an athlete, I only needed to understand the technical and tactical skills of curling, but now I need to focus on how to hold a successful event."
In addition to taking a holistic perspective to understand an event, Wang Bingyu also has to pay attention to more details: "When athletes arrive at the venue, from the entrance to the locker room, and then to the entrance of the rink, everything should be well arranged and designed by professional personnel according to the needs of athletes. I am now such a designer, I hope I can do a good job and provide better services for athletes."
After attending three Olympic Games, she deeply knows the cruelty of competitive sports. Athletes who come to Beijing 2022 may not always get their ideal results, but Wang Bingyu hopes that through the efforts of herself and the team, athletes could consider the trip as a worthwhile one no matter what results they get, and the Beijing 2022 will leave a deep impression on them.
