At the northeast and southwest corners of Jinyuan Bridge, two 7-storeyed sculptures have risen from the ground. The sculpture at the northeast corner is the Winter Olympic emblem "Winter Dreams" inspired by the Chinese character "冬", which means winter, while the sculpture at the southwest corner is the Winter Paralympic emblem "Leaps" inspired by the Chinese character "飞", which means flying. Next, greenery will be added around the sculptures for visitors to enjoy the scenery in all seasons. During festivals, the lighting on the facade of the Jinyuan Bridge will also show changing patterns, such as plants and snowflakes, creating a good atmosphere for celebrating the upcoming Winter Olympics.
Along the 9.6-kilometer Winter Olympic Parkway are five or six "Flower Parks" and "Neighborhood Gardens" where the public can exercise and relax. On the south of the Shougang Basketball Center on Fushi Road, an amazing "Flower Park" has quietly taken off its veil. The 1,560-meter rubber running track is available for runners to build up their bodies. New benches, wooden sidewalks, and children's amusement facilities in the park make every moment much more enjoyable... The old park with a history of more than a decade has been transformed into a popular attraction nearby.
The forgotten part of the city has been reused and turned into a Winter Olympics themed park next to the Winter Olympic Parkway. The noisy and disorderly “Laoshan Morning Market” has been transformed into the New Bajiao Amusement Park covering about 28,000 square meters that is open to citizens for free. After the opening of the New Bajiao Amusement Park, it receives as many as 8,000 visits daily during festivals or holidays, becoming an Internet-famous scenic spot for citizens.
In the next stage, nine tasks will be carried out along the Winter Olympic Parkway, including landscape lighting along Fushi Road and landscape improvement of Lianshi Lake Park.
