On June 13, the 2nd Regional Development Forum of Western Beijing was held in Shougang Park, Shijingshan District. The forum, with the theme of "Fostering New Opportunities and Boosting Development of Western Beijing by Transformation", aimed to showcase the accomplishments of industrial transformation and growth in western Beijing. It also sought to encourage high-quality investments as well as attract talented individuals by addressing cutting-edge topics in the digital economy, tourism and cultural consumption, urban renewal, and other areas through a variety of activities, including keynote speeches, new opportunity releases, contract signings, parallel forums, and field trips.
During their keynote speeches, senior experts highlighted the hot topics regarding the development of western Beijing. They spoke about the current state of high-quality transformation and development in the region and shared their insights on future plans. Furthermore, they discussed the vast opportunities for industrial development in the region from a global standpoint while also reflecting on its transformation and development in light of coordinated regional development.
The new opportunity releases were impressive, with a batch of policy measures, research reports, and development planning achievements issued. These include the results of industrial transformation and upgrading in the old industrial zone (Shijingshan), which is a national old industrial zone in the urban area, the ecological plan for industrial services in Beijing West Wisdom Valley, the policy for development finance to support the transformation, development and industrial upgrading in western Beijing, the Industrial Development Report of Shougang Park (2022), and the conceptual scheme of the research and field trip at Qianjuntai Mine Site Comprehensive Scenic Spot.
A total of 23 enterprises were signed and settled in the western Beijing region with a registered capital of CNY 11.5 billion during the signing ceremony. Apart from that, 12 strategic cooperation agreements were signed, covering financial development, digital culture, business exhibitions, tourism and leisure, innovation incubation, regional collaboration, and other fields. Also, 15 investment projects were established, with an estimated total investment of CNY 19.4 billion. Twelve industrial fund projects were nailed down, covering optical imaging, AI, Fintech, healthcare, private equity, and other areas.
As one of the important parts of the 2nd Regional Development Forum of Western Beijing, three parallel forums were held in the afternoon. The parallel forums welcomed more than 300 attendees, including individuals from the member units of the China Chamber of Tourism and other business associations, representatives from enterprises located in Shijingshan District and Mentougou District, local government officials, and renowned experts from home and abroad.
