Recently, the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) Reception for Foreign Diplomatic Missions and Representative Offices of Countries and International Organizations took place in Beijing. The 2023 CIFTIS is scheduled to be held from September 2 to 6 at the China National Convention Center, National Indoor Stadium and Shougang Park, both offline and online, featuring comprehensive and thematic exhibitions and focusing on hot topics of opening-up, cooperation, innovation and intelligence, among others. Covering a total area of 155,000 square meters for exhibition and display, the CIFTIS this year will also feature various events including the Global Trade in Services Summit, forums, meetings, promotion sessions, negotiations, and releases of relevant achievements.

The 2023 CIFTIS will feature a diverse range of exhibitions, encompassing both comprehensive and thematic ones, with the latter to highlight cutting-edge technologies, products, and achievements in the field of trade in services.

Emphasizing international participation and a range of offline events, the 2023 CIFTIS is set to amplify its efforts in attracting foreign political dignitaries, ministerial-level guests, heads of international organizations, and representatives of overseas key enterprises. The Global Trade in Services Summit is scheduled to be held in collaboration with OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development), while invitations have also been extended to authoritative international organizations to organize summit forums. Prominent countries like the United Kingdom and Malaysia have already expressed their intent to send high-level delegations to China, and nearly 50 countries including France and international organizations such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will conduct online and offline meetings in the names of their national governments and headquarters respectively. Furthermore, a signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention on the International Effects of Judicial Sales of Ships (also known as the Beijing Convention) will take place, with delegates from approximately 60 countries in attendance.

The United Kingdom has been designated as the guest of honor of the 2023 CIFTIS. The Fair will highlight smart services, innovation outcomes, and the latest technologies and applications featuring the technological and industrial integration of AI and metaverse. A multitude of new technologies, reports and cases that contribute to industrial development, as well as Beijing's achievements in constructing the "Two Zones" (China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone and Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Service Sector) will also be released during the CIFTIS. Notably, over 30 enterprises and organizations, including Schneider, Alibaba, Accenture, China Post and Roche have already expressed their intention to unveil new services and technologies. To enhance the immersive metaverse-based experiences of the public, an additional interactive zone spanning 20,000 square meters will be set up this year as well.

The CIFTIS this year will once again facilitate the coordination and establishment of dedicated trading groups for centrally-administered state-owned enterprises, centrally-administered financial enterprises, and local enterprises. The Fair will include a range of events focusing on the latest hot topics and trends in the global trade-in-service sector. To date, 78 organizations including the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and WIPO have applied to host 115 events. Additionally, a special event called the "Invest in China Year" will showcase the experiences gained from comprehensive pilot programs aimed at promoting wider opening-up of the service sector.
