Shougang Park Ranks Among Beijing's Top Ten Tourist Destinations in Terms of Number of Tourists

During the New Year's Day holiday of 2023, 20 major scenic areas, parks, sites for cultural relics, and hotels monitored by Shijingshan District received more than 204,700 visits, increasing by 6.5 times over the same period of 2019. The number of tourists received by Shougang Park ranked among the top ten in Beijing. The total revenue achieved CNY 4,792,600, increasing by 2.2 times over the same period of 2019.

On the evening of December 31, 2022, the 2023 Beijing New Year Countdown Celebration, hosted by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and jointly supported by the People's Government of Shijingshan District and Shougang Group, was successfully held in Shijingshan's Shougang Park. The event consisted of five chapters, namely "Charm of Ancient Capital", "Dual Olympic City", "New Chapter of Beijing", "Beautiful China" and "Glory of Future". The event offered a panoramic and immersive light show based on the industrial heritage of Shougang Park to show the excellence of technologies and the gorgeous night view of the city after renewal and development. The gentle lights and the industrial sites in Shougang Park were well combined. History, culture and modern technologies complemented each other in the event. The immersive audiovisual feast has indeed amazed the tourists.

During the holiday, Shijingshan District Culture and Tourism Bureau launched a variety of consumption promotional events for cultural tourism, covering 15 preferential activities such as Banshan Huahai Winter Carnival and Shijingshan Stadium Winter Carnival. The district aims to boost consumption and give impetus to the market through different forms of promotional activities. As of noon, January 2, the amount of direct consumption in the district reached CNY 886,800.

During the holiday, diversified cultural activities were organized online and offline in Shijingshan District. A total of 66 activities of 53 categories were held. The activities included exhibitions, film projections, and cultural performances, recording about 9,045 visits.
