'Nihao, Shijingshan' Inbound Tourism Promotion Event Launched

On June 1, the "Nihao, Shijingshan" inbound tourism promotion event was held with great success. As a key part of the 2025 Beijing Inbound Tourism Development Conference, the Shijingshan District welcomed over 100 overseas travel agents for an in-depth tour and immersive experience. By hosting the "Shijingshan Night" event, Shijingshan District aims to provide a platform for business exchanges, deeper cooperation, and international engagement among Chinese and foreign travel professionals. With a global perspective, Shijingshan is sharing its unique story and extending a warm invitation to the world, actively promoting the development of inbound tourism.
 
 
"It is a great joy to welcome friends from afar." That evening, the "Shijingshan Night" was spectacularly held at the Shougang No.1 Blast Furnace SoReal Sci-Fi Park, captivating guests with vibrant cultural activities. As the western gateway to Beijing's capital, Shijingshan District integrates the beauty of nature, cultural sophistication, technological trends, and modern vitality. Through innovative practices in urban renewal and industrial transformation, the district is developing distinctive inbound tourism products, new travel scenarios, and innovative business formats. These efforts actively attract international visitors to experience Shijingshan's evolving cultural and tourism lifestyle, discover the beauty of Beijing and China, and support Beijing's goal of becoming a world-class global tourist destination.
 
 
Currently, Shijingshan District is stepping up efforts to promote inbound tourism through the implementation of a series of targeted support measures. The district has released the "Eight Measures for Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Hotel Accommodation Industry in Shijingshan District", backed by a dedicated fund of 10 million yuan. This initiative aims to support the hotel sector's high-quality growth through targeted incentives, enhance hotel facilities and service standards across the board, and actively attract premium international hotel brands. It also seeks to expand accommodation options for international visitors, with special lodging subsidies offered to encourage inbound travel agencies to promote overnight stays. Starting in June, the district will successively launch a range of initiatives including the "Nihao, Shijingshan" English Tour Guide Competition, the rollout of AI-powered Tour Guide, and curated premium inbound tourism routes. Efforts will also focus on optimizing the multilingual environment, continuously improving the convenience of tax refund and sightseeing services, and ensuring every visitor's journey in Shijingshan is both fresh and heartfelt.
 
The Shijingshan District Bureau of Culture and Tourism presented "Nihao, Shijingshan" Tourism Ambassador certificates to representatives of overseas travel agencies. Moving forward, both parties will actively collaborate on joint promotion, destination marketing, and the tailored development of travel products and itineraries.
 
 
 
 
At the event, four intangible cultural heritage items from Shijingshan District were showcased, including Xiao's traditional leathercraft, traditional Beijing-style qipao tailoring, Beijing embroidery, and ink rubbing art, offering international travel professionals an up-close experience of the unique charm of Chinese intangible cultural heritage. A 40-minute live performance brought these traditions to life, drawing repeated expressions of awe from the audience. Flower Plate Spinning showcased a spirit of openness and inclusivity; Taming the Sea Horse conveyed a spirit of courage and resilience; Traditional Magic conjured infinite possibilities; the young Peking Opera performers sang with cultural confidence; Chou Mo Yin Chu sketched the vibrant tapestry of urban life; and A Voice of Blessing illuminated the road ahead! Shijingshan District builds bridges of friendship across borders through the gift of culture.
 
 
The joint exhibition booths of four major attractions—Shougang Park, the Moshikou Historical and Cultural Block, the Shougang No.1 Blast Furnace SoReal Sci-Fi Park, and Badachu Park—offered a vibrant and engaging display. Travel professionals praised Shijingshan District for its rich cultural and tourism resources, expressing admiration for its profound historical heritage and unique modern urban experiences. Many described it as a truly unmissable international travel destination.
 
 
 
The Technology and Cultural Tourism Exhibition Booth vividly demonstrated how cutting-edge technology is deeply empowering the cultural and tourism industry, reshaping travel experiences, and breaking the boundaries of traditional tourism. The display received widespread acclaim from attendees. ELE007.com leveraged generative AI algorithms and a 3D rendering engine to provide guests with personalized AI avatars in real-time, set against backgrounds featuring iconic cultural and tourism landmarks in Shijingshan. Trizilion's project "Technological Empowerment and Global Promotion of Intangible Cultural Heritage: Baguazhang" was selected as an innovative case for intangible cultural heritage communication in 2025. Utilizing virtual reality and motion capture technologies, many guests were able to follow guided routines and practice Baguazhang on site through immersive, interactive experiences. EFFYIC showcased its AI MINI BOX—an emotional companion and voice interaction device that can be embedded into various toy carriers, serving as an intelligent travel buddy for tourists.
 
The Shijingshan Surprise Gift self-service treasure cabinet made its debut at the event, featuring a wide array of products including Shougang-themed cultural and creative items, intangible cultural heritage crafts, museum-inspired merchandise, and traditional Chinese medicine–themed gifts. The cabinet sparked a new wave of shopping enthusiasm among attendees. According to reports, these treasure cabinets will soon be rolled out to key hotels, cultural venues, and commercial areas across Shijingshan District.
 
In the negotiation area, travel agents from key inbound tourism markets, including the United States, Malaysia, and Germany, engaged in in-depth discussions on trending products, themed routes, and experiential offerings. The atmosphere was lively and interactive. There is strong anticipation for the development of more distinctive products, curated itineraries, and immersive scenarios that will allow global travelers to fully experience the unique charm of Shijingshan.
 
On the day of the event, over 100 inbound travel professionals from more than 20 countries and regions—including the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, and South Korea—visited Shijingshan for a familiarization tour. The district introduced five themed inbound tourism routes, including Industrial Heritage, Ancient Charm Exploration, Technological Innovation, Green Oxygen Retreat, and Cultural Discovery. These itineraries drew wide attention from both domestic and international travel professionals, showcasing Beijing's ever-evolving appeal as a world-class tourism destination.
 
In the Moshikou Historical and Cultural Block, travel agents visited Fahai Temple to admire nationally treasured murals, explored intangible cultural heritage techniques at the Yanjing Eight Imperial Palace Handicrafts Museum in Cheng'en Temple, and strolled through traditional courtyards to experience the leisurely lifestyle of Western Beijing. They spoke highly of the seamless integration of ancient and modern elements and the district's profound cultural charm. At Shougang Park, the travel agents toured several featured sites, including the NOLO Future Digital Space, RE International Center for Digital Creativity, the Shougang No.1 Blast Furnace SoReal Sci-Fi Park, the Big Air Shougang, Cooling Tower Basketball Park, as well as the Beijing Gifts & Shijingshan Gifts collection store. They experienced the layered charm of Shijingshan—where industrial heritage renewal, sci-fi innovation, Olympic spirit, and cultural tourism come together—offering a vibrant and delightfully surprising vision of Beijing.
 
 
 
 
 
In recent years, Shijingshan District has aligned with Beijing's overarching goals of becoming China's premier destination for inbound tourism and developing into a world-class international tourist city. The district has introduced a series of pragmatic initiatives to advance inbound tourism promotion. First, the district has actively established international platforms for cultural exchange, organizing a series of events including the Beijing Inbound Tourism Development Conference, the "Nihao, Beijing" program that welcomed foreign diplomats to Shijingshan, and inbound tourism promotion sessions for the Western Hills–Yongding River Cultural Belt. Second, Shijingshan has doubled efforts to enhance its international visibility in the cultural tourism sector by partnering with mainstream media and leveraging overseas promotion platforms such as "Happy Chinese New Year" and "Nihao, Beijing." The district has actively promoted cultural performances and intangible cultural heritage experiences abroad, while also inviting renowned international influencers to explore and film Shijingshan's rich history, urban transformation, and vibrant energy. Third, the district continues to deepen partnerships with sister cities around the world. Long-term exchanges have been expanded with the 8th District of Rome (Italy), Mapo District in Seoul (South Korea), Itabashi and Sumida in Tokyo (Japan), and Chita City (Russia). Through joint themed programs, the district highlights its achievements in economic and social development.
 
 
Looking ahead, Shijingshan District will explore new horizons in inbound tourism by developing distinctive cultural and tourism IPs, introducing tailored inbound tour products, launching Shijingshan-themed diplomatic gifts, hosting high-quality international cultural and tourism exchange programs, expanding OTA and travel agency partnerships, and delivering full-service experiences across dining, lodging, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment for international visitors. With these initiatives, Shijingshan warmly welcomes friends from across the world to join in writing a new chapter of cultural and tourism integration—where every culture shines in its own way, and together they create shared brilliance.
