Moshikou Historical and Cultural Block is located in the central part of Shijingshan District in Beijing. Its history dates back to the Western Zhou Dynasty (1046–771 BC), and it became famous during the Ming and Qing Dynasties for its abundance of whetstones. During the Republic of China period (1912–1949), it became Beiping's (old name for Beijing) first electrified village and was renamed "Moshikou" which means "a model for all villages".

The block is home to numerous historical sites, cultural treasures, ancient residences, and traditional courtyards. Visitors can enjoy the "Five Wonders" of Fahai Temple, and also visit Cheng'en Temple, the Shijingshan Stone Carving Museum, and the China Quaternary Glacial Relics Exhibition Hall. In recent years, continuous efforts have been made to improve the environment, carry out restoration and renovation projects, transforming the area into a national-level leisure and tourism district. The block has regained new vitality and is gradually emerging as a new historical and cultural landmark.
