The first phase of the innovation workshop project on urban weaving (West Zone) of the Shougang Park kicked off on Jan 13, 2021. As a key project in the North Zone of Shougang Park, the project is designed and constructed together with Shougang Station of Line M11. It will serve as the entrance and exit for visitors of the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 (hereinafter referred to as "Beijing 2022") and will leave visitors arriving by subway the first impression of Beijing 2022. As the first phase of the project kicked off, the construction of the Innovation Workshop area for urban weaving officially started. So far, the construction of five areas of North Zone of Shougang Park have all started.
The five areas of North Zone of Shougang Park are Shijingshan Landscape Park, the Winter Olympics Square, Industrial Heritage Park, public service supporting area, and innovation workshop project on urban weaving. Among them, Shijingshan Landscape Park is located in the northwest of the North Zone, covering an area of 45.9 hectares with a building area of 37,000 square meters. It is adjacent to Fushi Road, Shilong Road (under planning) and Binhe Road (under planning), and will form a three-dimensional ecological system with Yongding River.
The Winter Olympics Square is located in the center of the North Zone. It covers an area of 99.5 hectares and the construction area is 448,000 square meters. It includes the office area of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and an official venue for Beijing 2022, namely Shougang Big Air. There are also some national training venues for short track speed skating, figure skating, curling, ice hockey, rock climbing and skateboarding.
The Industrial Heritage Park is located in the central part of the North Zone, covering an area of 71.1 hectares with a construction scale of 89,000 square meters. With the heritage of industrial process and green space as the main body, this park creates a landscape with a 1.9-kilometer long green axis and a digital intelligent industry cluster area of Jin'an Bridge Area.
The public service supporting area is located in the northeast of the North Zone, covering an area of 39.2 hectares with a construction scale of 639,000 square meters. It mainly bears urban service functions such as R&D and innovation platform and apartments for talents.
The innovation workshop on urban weaving is located in the southeast of the North Zone, covering an area of 31.4 hectares with a construction scale of 610,000 square meters. It is a spatial carrier for the development of enterprise headquarters of green industrial finance and digital intelligence.
