Beijing Winter Olympics Park has just observed its 1st anniversary. During the past year, the Park saw more than 1 million visits. Shijingshan District has always focused on the coordinated relationship between natural elements such as mountains, waters, springs and forests and cultural and historical elements such as temples in the district. At the design stage, designers and other staff members made overall planning for the ecological landscape zone in the Park for full-cycle scenery in all seasons. Based on the distinctive layout in the north, middle and south areas of the Park, five unique and colorful ecological landscapes have been formed.
Following the closure of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the Park has new missions. It aims to inherit the culture of the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, encourage people to participate in sports and fitness activities, maintain and further promote public enthusiasm for the Olympic Games and make good use of the legacy of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. During the sports event themed "Winter Sports for a Shared Future", which was held by the Winter Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and targeted at the public, Wu Dajing, Su Yiming and other Chinese winter sports athletes planted 18 Chinese scholar trees and lacebark pines in the China Winter Sports Champion Forest. Different types of events have encouraged more residents to take part in sports and fitness activities.
