The Shougang Big Air is the world's first permanent venue for Big Air. It is the only skiing event venue in the downtown area of Beijing during the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Four gold medals, two for snowboarding and two for freestyle skiing, will be made on the Shougang Big Air during the Beijing 2022.

Inspired by the image of the Flying Apsaras of Dunhuang frescoes, the venue is designed like a ribbon floating in the air, implying that athletes are flying in the sky.

The Shougang Big Air has a total length of about 160 meters, and its highest point reaches 60 meters. Through the adjustment of the track profile, it can also be converted into a track for freestyle skiing aerials games. When designing the track and the end zone, the designers have considered not only the requirements of winter skiing games, but also the feasibility of summer extreme sports such as zipline and grass skating, as well as of holding performances.

As an important venue legacy of the Winter Olympics and Paralympics, it will be integrated with the surrounding facilities to be opened to the public as a sports and leisure park after Beijing 2022.
