University of Chinese Academy of Sciences

The University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, UCAS in short and an institution of higher education mainly focusing on graduate education, was established with the approval of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. UCAS has started to officially enroll international students since 2004. At present, it has more than 120 majors which are qualified to enroll foreign doctoral students, including 83 majors in seven categories, namely, science, engineering, agriculture science, medicine, management, economics, and philosophy.

UCAS is a member of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU), the vice-president unit of the International Exchange Chapter for“Double First-Class” University, a branch of the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), and among the first batch of universities joining in the Sino-Australian first-class university cooperation mechanism. The school and 8 Danish public universities have co-founded the Sino-Danish Center that integrates education, scientific research and innovation, and co-established the Sino-Danish College, a Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run school. Supported by the Kavli Foundation of the United States, UCAS has also founded a Kavli Institute for Theoretical Sciences, one of the 20 Kavli institutes across the world.

Foreign students who apply for UCAS can apply for the scholarship programs such as the Chinese Government Scholarship, the CAS-TWAS President's Fellowship Programme, the Beijing Government Scholarship, and the UCAS Scholarship for International Students.
