Cishan Temple Ancient Incense Ritual Cultural Exhibition Hall is located in the Tiantai Mountain (天泰山) area in the northwest of Shijingshan District, Beijing. Tiantai Mountain, originally named "Tiantai Mountain" (天台山, which means "heavenly platform mountain")_for its shape, is one of Beijing's famous "Three Mountains and Five Tops" and an important node on the Xishan Yongding River Cultural Belt in Beijing. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi (1662-1722) in the Qing Dynasty, its name was changed to Tiantai Mountain (天太山), and after several changes, it eventually got a name (天泰山) which has been used to this day.

Perched on the summit of the west cliff of the main peak of Tiantai Mountain, Cishan Temple covers an area of over 60,000 square meters and boasts a history of over 400 years. It is a rare large temple in Beijing that integrates multiple cultural elements of Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism, folklore, ancestral worship, etc.
