Shijingshan Academy (石景山书院) recently opened to the public. This cultural venue is located on Shijing Mountain by the Yongding River in western Beijing.

Following renovation based on the features of Shijing Mountain, Shijingshan Academy now comprises three major areas: Nanshan Courtyard (南山小院), an ancient architecture complex, and Gongbei Pavilion (功碑阁). Functioning as a cultural experience venue and study trip destination, it will host thematic exhibitions and art salons. The Academy is expected to become a novel public aesthetic education space,  operating year-round with both indoor and outdoor facilities accessible to visitors.

Nanshan Courtyard is the core area of the academy. Its four thematic "houses" with traditional Chinese flair were put into operation on the academy's opening day. Among them, the House No. 1 is the comprehensive service center, offering reception and guidance services while selling cultural souvenirs. More than 100 kinds of "Shijingshan Gifts" are displayed at the indoor souvenir counter.

The House No. 2 is a lecture hall for sinology, which is planned to hold cultural salons, art night schools and public lectures. In the future, it will host activities related to academic inheritance, themes related to urban development, and utilization of folklore resources, to serve as a themed space functioning as a regional library, an exhibition hall of urban culture, and a venue for promoting the local culture.

The House No. 3 is an interaction zone highlighting intangible cultural heritage (ICH). Multi-level ICH experience activities will be designed for this house to attract various entities to participate in operation as "masterminds", and promote the dynamic inheritance of ICH.

The House No. 4 is a cultural living room, which combines the architectural aesthetics of the Qing Dynasty with modern conference facilities. Designed as a venue for tea gatherings, art salons and spiritual retreats, it offers facilities for hosting tea and coffee breaks alongside buffet services, creating immersive cultural experiences.
